In order to make the Ghent collection of dialect recordings also thematically accessible to the general public, the GCND team, together with Variaties vzw and Huis van Alijn, set up a pilot project in 2020, financed with a subsidy for cultural heritage work by the Flemish Government. During this project a standardized thesaurus was developed and 18% of the collection was thematically annotated. 102 recordings can now be searched through thematically via the website www.dialectloket.be.
On September 15 2021, this project was presented during a symposium on oral heritage.
The project is currently being funded by the Faculty of Arts (Ghent University).
